As you all know, we do a lot of stuff around here. From our home matches to watch parties to the Jimmy Conrad Show to events such as that at Heritage Park, we've always got something else going on. I've now added an "Upcoming Events" tab on the right side of the blog that we will keep as current as possible throughout the year. This will be another resource to check about our upcoming schedule of Wizards-related events. As we debut the feature, we'll break down the current list, as it is pretty jam-packed.1. The Jimmy Conrad Show, presented by Budweiser. You know this happens each week on Wednesday nights. For the next month, this will be broadcast live on location from Tanner's off K-7 and Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee, KS. Come out each week and register for some great prizes.
2. U.S. Men's National Team Watch Party. The U.S. men travel to Costa Rica for a Wednesday-night World Cup qualifier broadcast live on ESPN at 9 p.m. CT. We will host a watch party for the match at both 810 Zone locations. These will be the spots for U.S. Men's National Team watch parties for the rest of 2009 (except Saturday night...get to that in a minute).
3. Press Conference with Coach Onalfo. Each Thursday, Onalfo does a press conference for the local media at noon at our Swope Park Training Center.
4. Wizards vs. Crew. Oh by the way, we have a soccer game. Saturday night we host the Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m. CT at CAB. Don't have tickets yet? Click here or call us at 913.387.3400.
5. U.S. Men's National Team Watch Party. The U.S. return home to host Honduras (with Wizards midfielder Roger Espinoza) Saturday in Chicago. The match starts at 7 p.m. CT, but we will be recording it to be shown after the conclusion of our match at Dave & Buster's. Watch the Wizards take on the 2008 MLS Cup champs, then watch the U.S. fight to qualify for World Cup 2010.
6. Reserves vs. Brass. Our reserve team faces the Kansas City Brass Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at our Swope Park Training Center. Admission is free. Feel freet to come on out and see the boys who didn't play Saturday.
7. FootWedge Cup. The FootWedge Cup takes place next Tuesday beginning with registration at 11:30 a.m. at Loch Lloyd Country Club. The golfing spots are all taken, but feel free to come out and watch some Wizards players on the course with some of the Wizards partners and figures from other local companies. All proceeds of the tournament will benefit the Kansas City Soccer Foundation.
We'll continue updating through next week with The Jimmy Conrad Show and next week's game shortly.
