FAN-Tastic!
I'm Excited!!!
Thank you Robb
GO WIZARDS! HILLCREST ROAD IS NUMERO UNO! How can I get a free Stadium T-Shirt?
This is seriously great news.
Will the blog stay "Hillcrest Road"? I'm guessing not...
Thanks for the update, Robb. Sounds great! Nice shirt, too....Can't wait for the 1st game at "HOME"!
So very sorry to be losing you!! Our KCMO family of five had been SO psyched to buy season tickets when our favorite sport was going to be in our own backyard! We're disappointed, but we'll still be catching the broadcast matches & sending good vibes. Go Wizards!
Can't wait for stadium. Can we start rebranding speculation of name/logo?
Thanks for the update Robb. It's great to hear positive news. I can't wait to be in our own stadium. Looking forward to the Wizards having a great season in 2010!
Thanks Robb...be planning a massive march in as well for opening day!!!
you should give Lenexa sound and accoustics consulting firm, Coffeen Fricke and Associates a shot at bidding the project, after all, they are ticket buyers!
Any plans for the bannister site to have a Wizards/Soccer presence?
Interesting language: "pretty comfortable", "things aren't signed", "I THINK we are getting close to SOMETHING." Robb sounds like me when I am trying to BS my wife about something she has on her list I was supposed to have done.
(I must post this anonymously as my with thinks I am doing something else.)

KC Union would have been perfect. I'd say Kansas City Athletic or Kansas City Spurs.
I hope that's not the last rendition of the stadium. It looks like a toilet seat.
BIG mistake building it in Kansas. 2+ Million on the MO side. 150K on the Kansas side. Wah Wahh. Future Fail
is an invisible state line really going to stop soccer fans?
Well, I guess it might stop a few stuck up KCMO fair-weather fans but would they really support any KC team anyway?
I think you are missing the point: the Wizards have a place in the greater KC area to call home!
I hope this stadium works out! It might actually give the Wizards some respect. I swear, the Wizards get the least respect out of any other team in the MLS. Is there any speculation of what the stadium is going to be called? Any ideas?

Well the fact that we're called the "Wizards" doesn't help.
Wizards is a fine name. I don't understand the complaints.
It would have been much better to have the park nearer to more people in Bannister Mall, but still it will be great news when they have concluded this deal.
"Wizards is a fine name. I don't understand the complaints."
Are you in denial or something? It's fine if your target audience is 7 year olds.
Excitement is building.
There are not 2+ million people on the MO side, there are 2+ million in the whole metro, and KCK alone has 150K people, plus Johnson County is right next door.
I'm not from KC, nor am I a fan of your team (Seattle FC & Portland). But I have to say that your team name isn't the best. I would be far more inclined to be a fan if it were less... juvenile.
As an aside, I always wondered why different teams from the same region never cooperated in creating a stronger overall brand. What I mean is this- consider creating some business arrangement with the with the Royals. You do, after all, share the same colors anyway. Kansas City Royals FC. Not too shabby sounding. Being a familiar brand it would create interest across sporting lines. Anyhow, just my two cents.
Good luck with the stadium. It looks terrific in concept and will definitely draw fans as well.
