 Bad Blogger/New KCW.com

Wow, what a bad blogger I've been today. It's 1:15 p.m. and there's nothing for you folks to chew on, other than last night's super-sweet Santi-vision piece. What do you think, should we bring that back again later in the year?
What's the reason for the delay? I've been working all morning on the new KCWizards.com, which will go live sometime late tonight/early tomorrow morning. For now, I can provide you with the screen shot below. We're very excited about the new website and the new ways of providing content it will provide. I will, however, ask that you all bear with us through the first couple of days/weeks on the new system. As always, there will be bugs. Once the site is live, send any thoughts/comments/suggestions to sitefeedback@kcwizards.com.
What's our goal for the site? Provide access to as much Kansas City Wizards content as possible. Even if we don't produce it, we want you to be able to find it from our site. That means you will (eventually) see a news aggregator that sends you out to all the stories on the web about our club.
The blog will stay here at hillcrestroadblog.com for now, but eventually it will be housed within the same system as the website. The focus of the blog will change slightly, shifting back to more of an off-the-field view of the team. Hopefully all the on-field stuff will be captured by the rest of the site itself.
Have any questions or comments in the mean time? Post them below. Yes, the stadium web cam goes live tomorrow with the website. Get ready!

Please make for quick and easy access and navigation via mobile. SO important nowadays.

Also a game day section would be great - much like the programs they hand out, but with last minute up to date information. Something that can be accessed via mobile when you're in the parking lot before game.

Oh, and the ability to order a brew/lemonade/hot chocolate from my seat during the game:)

Excited to see it! The stadium webcam is awesome. The content here is usually pretty good, but I've got a few suggestions.

More needs to happen whenever new players are signed. We don't know any of these new guys (or really our existing roster) and hillcrestroad has the best access of anyone. Not just the basic questions. It sounds like you guys might be headed that way with more of an exclusive off the field focus. I'd like to see more content every now and again in the Adam Spangler style but Wizards related. He makes stories interesting for the reader and you always care about his subject.

Don't over do it with the video interviews, especially for the ESL guys. Regular transcribed interviews have their place as well and are a lot more Google-friendly. Apparently Santi's quite smart, but he's only able to express himself to a certain extent in English.

Speculate more. Stir things up. Create conversation. Spend time on coming up with interesting questions. This is minor quibbling but "Mayer Wears Wizards Shirt" isn't stirring any passion, though the picture is perfect and story has interest.

Mainly though, I'd like to see more professionally produced video pieces. We need more highlight films, more videos that help us as fans develop a common vision of our club, builds our pride, and gets us excited. That takes more time and therefore money obviously, but the shelf life of something powerful can be years or decades. You guys do a good job providing us with the impromptu video that can be the most funny.

Obviously Fulham has a whole different level of history, replicating this exactly with the Wizards current status would fail, but we can aspire to this level of quality with the content and the message is clearly stated and you know what Fulham aspires to be. Don't always try to do funny. We need class and pride and excitement as well, especially as a club without 100+ years of history to fall back on.

This is a good idea. It might have a small market at first, but sounds useful if people knew about it.

Everyone at the Wizards has been working really hard. The organization seems very focused from top to bottom, and this website is just one more example.
