Konrad Warzycha, 25, celebrates a goal against Penn State
Pretty cool to say KC has the first (Teal Bunbury) and now second son of a former MLS player to join the League in its 16-year history. Sporting Kansas City announced the signing of Konrad Warzycha today -- offspring of Columbus Crew coach Robert Warzycha -- and while the imposing midfielder isn't with the team in pre-season after having knee surgery last week, he told The Sporting Way that the surgery went well and he will be rehabbing as hard as he can to return for his rookie season.
Lots of other links to catch up on for Thursday:- While Sporting Park construction continues ahead of our June 9th opener, construction has also began at the former stadium site at Bannister Mall for a $590 million development. Check out more on The Trails at the project's website.
- Speaking of our world class stadium, Mark at The Beautiful Game KC lists some world class teams he would love to see play there.
- WVhooligan.com ranks 2011 MLS keepers. Who thinks Jimmy Nielsen, an MLS All-Star last season, deserves higher than No. 8?
- The SKC U13 and U15 Juniors were in St. Louis last weekend for neutral site friendlies against the Chicago Magic Pre-Academy. Read the recap on The Junior Way.
Welcome, Konrad Warzycha
