As you may have noticed, there was a battle of epic proportions being waged in social media world last week. Sporting KC striker Teal Bunbury challenged friend and fellow U.S. Men's National Team forward Juan Agudelo to see which striker could garner the most Twitter followers by Saturday's kickoff.

The weeklong contest escalated quickly, with the two players enlisting the likes of Chad Ochocinco, LIVESTRONG CEO Doug Ulman, Jozy Altidore, Red Bull and many more to help boost their respective numbers.

In the end, though, it was Teal who had the last laugh. By kickoff, Bunbury held the edge in followers, 9,996 to Agudelo's 9,552. Thus, it was Agudelo who had to pay up as he snapped the above photo wearing a stylish #9 Bunbury shirt yesterday.
